Soaring Eagle To Open Brick-And-Mortar Sportsbook Monday

Just in time for college basketball’s national championship on Monday, Michiganders will have one more option for watching and betting on the game. The Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, located in the central part of the state about an hour north of Lansing, will open its Ascend Sportsbook at 4 p.m. local time.

According to the casino’s website, Morris Peterson and Mateen Cleaves, members of Michigan State’s 2000 national champion basketball team, will be among those on hand for the ribbon cutting. Patrons can also take advantage of $1.75 draft Coors Light and $2 bottles, as well as 50% off any appetizer with a parlay ticket that includes three or more legs. A DJ will be on hand as well as several local radio stations.

The opening is the first for a retail sportsbook in Michigan this year and will bring the number of brick-and-mortar sportsbooks in the state to 20. The casino is one of two owned and operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. The tribe has plans to launch its digital sportsbook later this year.

@ACBellino returns Monday and will be live at @SoaringEagle777 Casino and Resort for the launch of the Ascend Sportsbook!
